SMS/Text Message Communications

GNelson Detailing operates an SMS text messaging program to communicate with customers and leads regarding appointments, services, and occasional offers. This section describes how we obtain consent, what messages we send, and how to opt out.

Consent to receive SMS is never a condition of purchasing our services.

How We Collect Your Consent

We collect your consent to receive SMS messages through one of the following methods:

  • Website form: By checking the explicit SMS consent checkbox on our contact or booking form at gnelsondetailing.com. The checkbox is unchecked by default and you must actively check it to provide consent.
  • Phone call: By giving verbal consent during a phone call with us. We document verbal consent with the date and a summary of the call in our records. Verbal consent is limited to transactional messages tied to that specific inquiry — appointment confirmations and direct service coordination. Customers who provide verbal consent will receive a confirmation text and must reply YES to receive future non-transactional messages, including re-engagement or promotional content.

Types of Messages We Send

Once you have provided consent, we may send the following types of messages:

  • Replies and follow-ups to customer inquiries and quote requests
  • Appointment booking confirmations, reminders, and scheduling coordination
  • Service updates (arrival times, vehicle status, completion notifications)
  • Service follow-ups and maintenance reminders

Message Frequency

Message frequency varies based on your relationship with us. Active customers and leads with open inquiries typically receive 2–8 messages per month. Past customers and inactive leads typically receive 1–2 messages per quarter for re-engagement, seasonal offers, or service reminders. You may receive more messages during active service coordination or fewer if you have no upcoming appointments.

Re-engagement Messages

If you have previously inquired about our services or been a customer, we may contact you periodically with service reminders, re-engagement offers, or seasonal promotions, provided you previously consented to SMS communications and have not opted out. Re-engagement messages will clearly identify GNelson Detailing and include opt-out instructions. If you have not received messages from us in over six months, your first message from us in a new campaign will include a re-confirmation request and you may reply STOP at any time to opt out.

Message and Data Rates

How to Opt Out

You can opt out of all non-transactional SMS at any time by replying STOP to any message. This includes re-engagement messages, seasonal offers, promotional content, and service reminders. After you reply STOP, we will send one final confirmation message and will not send any further re-engagement, promotional, or marketing messages. Transactional messages tied to a service you have already booked may still be sent until that service is complete or cancelled.

How We Use and Protect SMS Data

No mobile information will be shared with third parties/affiliates for marketing/promotional purposes. All categories exclude text messaging originator opt-in data and consent; this information will not be shared with any third parties.

  • Phone numbers collected for SMS are used solely for the communication purposes described above.
  • We do not sell, rent, or trade phone numbers.
  • Phone numbers will not be shared with advertising partners, data brokers, or affiliates.
  • Consent records (method of consent, date, and any relevant notes) are retained for compliance purposes.

Carrier Disclaimer

Wireless carriers (including T-Mobile, AT&T, Verizon, and others) are not liable for delayed or undelivered messages.

Data Retention for Phone Numbers

Your phone number is retained while you are an active customer or lead, and for a reasonable period afterward for legitimate business purposes (such as maintaining service history). You may request deletion of your phone number from our records at any time by contacting us as described in the Contact section below.

Data Security

We implement appropriate technical and organizational measures to protect your personal information against unauthorized access, alteration, disclosure, or destruction. Access to customer data is limited to personnel who need it to provide our services. However, no method of transmission over the internet or electronic storage is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security. If you believe your information has been compromised, please contact us immediately.

Meta Pixel (Facebook / Instagram)

Our website uses the Meta Pixel, a tracking technology provided by Meta Platforms, Inc. (Facebook and Instagram). The Pixel is a small piece of code that runs when you visit our site and may track the following events:

  • Custom Audiences: We may upload hashed (encrypted) customer email addresses and phone numbers to Meta to create Custom Audiences for advertising. These uploads are matched only against existing Meta accounts using one-way encryption. We do not share raw personal data; the hashed data is used solely for ad matching purposes and is not sold.
  • Lookalike Audiences: We may instruct Meta to identify users with similar characteristics to our existing customers to expand our advertising reach. This is done using Meta's matching tools and does not involve direct sharing of your identifiable information beyond the hashing process.
  • Retargeting: If you visit our website, we may show you relevant ads on Facebook, Instagram, or other Meta platforms. This is accomplished through the Meta Pixel described above.

Cookies and Tracking Technologies

Our website uses cookies and similar tracking technologies (such as pixels and local storage) to improve site functionality, analyze usage patterns, and support advertising. You can disable cookies through your browser settings. Disabling cookies may limit some site functionality but will not prevent you from using the site.
